Every Craft is Its Own

Let's dive right into it, shall we? The single most important thing I've come to learn is that no two practices are the same. From traditional Norse Paganism to Haitian Voodoo, the ways in which everyone practices are vastly differing from one another. Some practices are closed, and others are not. Some require years of mentorship, and others don't. That being said, when practicing you should always be sure to A. Know what you're getting into and B. Be respectful to the traditions of other cultural practices. Not everyone is going to be happy that you want to try and learn about their sacred craft. There are those who will be willing to ALWAYS teach (like me) and those who would prefer to keep it quiet when it comes to strangers. Always ere on the side of caution when stepping into the wide and wild world of witchcraft, but keep in mind that it's okay to have fun while you explore your options/calling.

What are my options?

Truth be told, that depends entirely on you and the guides who have been throwing signs in your direction. Ever have a moment in your life that you couldn't explain? Something that seemed to scream "PAY ATTENTION"? Nine times out of ten, you have a guide attempting to get your attention and wanting to work with you. They have taken time out of their everlasting days to speak with you and get your head on right. So, my best advice? Listen to them. They may be trying to get you started in your craft. For me, my first and foremost will always be Lucifer. Yes, Lucifer! Contrary to popular belief, he is a merciful, caring and often loving Patron Devil (God to me, as he has always been my Father). For you it may be Hekate, Lilith, Baphomet or any of the others out there in the Otherworld. Take the time to listen to their words and heed their signs. You may very well be surprised at who is trying to speak with you!

What is my calling?

Nine Hells if I know, but I can tell you this:

Healer

Beacon

Conduit

Channeler

Oracle

Prophet

Death Worker

Death Doula

Bereavement worker

Therapist

Doctor

Social Worker

Clinical Herbalist

Anything in the line of helping others, no matter the cause, tends to be the way of things. For the last 17 years, I have been a healer. To specify, a dark healer. I was placed on this path to help others heal their inner child, their past traumas and past life traumas, and to help them deal with the loss of their beloved dead, both ancestral and new alike. I also bring out, naturally, the toxic traits of others so that they may see themselves and say "Oh...I don't like that I did/said that". I am what I suppose could be called a Mirror (Dark Empath) for others. Once we get to the root of what is causing them pain, I am able to work with them and help guide them through the worst of it and get them to the other side. With pain comes toxicity. It took me a very long time to understand that not everyone was an asshole. Some are just hurting and don't know how to proceed with it.

It took me a while to get the hang of things in my practice, and my practice is, to this day, still seen as controversial in several spaces. We'll get into that later on down the road, and with it we can speak on who it is problematic for and why. Just remember, when it comes to your own practice...not a single soul can tell you how you're 'supposed' to do it. Be respectful, of course, but take no shit.
